Cornwall Autogas Coperative

#1 Post by simonayres » Sun Jan 13, 2019 7:31 pm

Hello to all mid Cornwall autogas users. I'd like to see if we can get enough interest to set up a cooperative with our own tank and card operated filling pump, enabling us to purchase our autogas at a reasonable price. Since losing Calor Truro we have no reasonably priced alternatives.

The suppliers will consider supplying a tank etc for a fleet user with 10ish vehicles, so if we can get 10 plus users interested in talking it through it could save us all lots.

Please reply here with contact numbers and we can try to arrange a meeting

Cheers

Just spent 2 weeks in Cornwall, filled up with LPG no problem usually at Shell places on the A30... Hayle, is it? and another place on A30 closer to Newquay, both not far from Truro really. Filled at Victoria services and near Launceston too. Haven't used any petrol in 700 miles within Cornwall including towing a large caravan. Begs the questions about availability (places just North and South on A30 of Truro) and price... 60odd pence versus how much for petrol...

Good idea about a cooperative, I'd vote for the car park at Newquay's Porth Beach but where would you lot agree? lol ;-)

Did you get enough interest in this Simon? I've just learnt that my local (Shell Hayle) is soon to be ditching its LPG pumps which is bad news for anyone in West Cornwall !!

LPGC Simon, why didn't you tell me you were coming to Cornwall? I've been waiting for you to look at my system for years !! :-) You could've popped in, or even parked up your caravan in my camping field :-)
