Omvl dream xxi

#1 Post by Modelnut » Sat Nov 09, 2019 5:29 pm

I have this system in my range rover l322, I have been having problems with a power drain when my car is parked overnight. I have had my car into a Land rover specialist and I have been told that it's the lpg ecu that isn't shutting down and that's what is causing the power drain. Has anyone had problems like this and how did you sort the problem out. Many thanks Jon

Unless the LED on the switch is staying on it's pretty unlikely, might be worth pulling the LPG fuse and seeing if you still have a battery drain. Rather than find a fault it's far easier for a mechanic to blame something aftermarket.

Thanks for the reply, I pulled what I was told to be the lpg main fuse and my battery was still flat in the morning. At the moment I am at a loss as to what is my next move

Not sure if the L322 is the same as the earlier P38 but they can suffer a flat battery due to RF interference keeping the body control module awake. You really need it to be looked at by an auto electrician who will be able to check current draw while pulling different fuses to isolate which circuit is drawing current. Mechanics rarely understand electrics, they can't see it and it doesn't go up, down or round and round.

Many thanks for all the replies, can anyone recommend an LPG servicing garage in the Hull area.

Simon (lpgc) would be a good best for you, hes on here. But would suspect unless you think it's actually staying on (lights on switch on after engine switched off would suggest it's the case?) That you need to look elsewhere.
