I've got a Stako 60 litre cylinder tank with an old style (no solonoid) outlet valve.
The gas tight cover lid exists and is says 'Turn clockwise to shut off' and points the the bottom right and left knurled nuts. However, undoing then about 2 turns does not seem to do anything and yes, it does have liquid gas in it, which I need to run through my engine (new installation using kit off identical car) so I can replace the valve with a new one and fit a new gas tight lid.
What am I doing wrong??
TIA....
Gareth
BRC valve function??
Re: BRC valve function??
You'll probably get more views in the General or Having Problems forums but what makes you think the tank has gas in it? The gauge is showing empty. The taps need to be fully undone too, not just a couple of turns.

Re: BRC valve function??
Thanks for the tip, it has liquid sloshing around - not more than a few litres, but definitely liquid. I will try unscrewing further, but which one controls which? Diagonally opposite perhaps??
DOn't know why I posted it here MOD feel free to shift the lot somewhere more sensible. My only excuse if I've been working hard on a car
(4 actually, aaarrgghh!!)

The one on the left, next to the union marked 'Liquid In' controls the input and the one on the right, next to the union marked 'Liquid Out' controls the output......

Re: BRC valve function??
Thanks, and not a problem to unscrew the nut as far as it will go?? - I don't want 5+ liters of LPG fountaining out of my boot!!
Re: BRC valve function??
It probably wouldn't be a good idea to open the taps until you've got some pipes connected.....
But they are like a tap, they won't come right out.
