Re: Engine management Light Shogun

Thanks for the quick reply chaps. I'll check out the wiring in a minute. Looks like I'm going to mess up my nice heatshrinked tidy injector cuts One other thing that may help is the EML only comes on when I stop and let the engine idle. It stays off if I drive above idle, slow down for a junction an...

Engine management Light Shogun

Good Morning If you have read some of my other posts you will know I have been putting a Zavoli Alisei on my 3.5 V6 DOHC 6G74 Shogun. It's running very well above idle, can't tell the difference to be honest. Got a rough idle with a slight misfire but this is probably down to 2 duff coil packs, repl...

Re: It Lives

Think I've found the source of my rough idle/misfire. I ripped out the plugs and coils last night and checked the coils. One coil had a stuck electrode so wasn't contacting the plug right and had burned the end of the electrode. Freed it off and re-turned the end a smidge, thought this was the cure....

Re: It Lives

Hi rossko Many thanks for your reply. Yes, a bit. On average, mind. Absolutely sure all the nozzles got modified alike? One mismatched would give you symptoms just like this, so it needs ruling out. I filled the nozzles completely with solder and then opened the small end to the original 4mm size 20...

Re: It Lives

Hi rossko Good memory. This is what I have done so far. Set reducer to 1.4 in setup screen. Tweaked Zeta S pressure down a bit to 1.4 bar, it was running at 1.6 bar. I have soldered up the nozzles and redrilled at 2.6mm The bar graph in the software sits bang in the middle of correct, it was showing...

It Lives

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D After pratting about for a week I finally got the Shogun running on gas  Using the wisdom gathered from this forum I think it's ok (well nearly) Performance wise it's no different, pulled 6000rpm through the gears in power mode up to 100 mph no problem ( private road office...

Which way up for Zavoli Zeta S

Morning Which way up does a Zeta S go? The install manual says temp sensor at the top but the new one I've got looks different than the one in the manual. There is an arrow pointing up which puts the Zavoli sticker the right way up. This puts the temp sensor at 9 o'clock and the water inlets at 3 o'...

Re: Routing Pipe from Tank to Reducer

Hi Matt
thanks for the reply. I read my post again and it could of been explained better.
I meant can I run the pipe on the sill side of the chassis or on the propshaft side.

Routing Pipe from Tank to Reducer

Hi Sorry to repost but I wasn't sure if anyone had read the other post Which is the accepted method of routing the LPG feed pipe from the multivalve to the reducer on a LWB Shogun? Inside the chassis rail or outside? Outside looks easier as there are no fuel or brake pipes in the way. Looks a bit mo...

Hi Chaps Another quickie Which is the accepted method of routing the LPG feed pipe from the multivalve to the reducer Inside the chassis rail or outside? Outside looks easier as there are no fuel or brake pipes in the way. Looks a bit more exposed to damage but I don't do any off roading except for ...

Re: Going to bore you lot stupid. 3.5 Shogun fitting

Thanks Tubbs I'll try to mount the ecu under the bonnet and try to hide the substantial amount of cable somewhere. The Lower inlet manifold and injector rail are currently set up on my milling machine. I'll get them as close to the injectors as possible just above, is that the right place? I can see...

Re: Going to bore you lot stupid. 3.5 Shogun fitting

Thanks Guys I'll have to have a pay with the positioning of the injectors at the weekend when I have I have built the engine back up. It's easier to put both injectors on the nearside of the engine but on the 3.5 24v DOHC there's not much room for 6 pipes to the spuds between the manifold and the ne...

Re: Going to bore you lot stupid. 3.5 Shogun fitting

Hello Experts Finally start to install this, well after I've put a new cambelt and valve seals in. So more questions if you don't mind. 1. How long can the gas pipes from the injectors to the spuds be? The inlet manifold on this thing is massive so I'm looking at around 300mm. Is this ok? 2. Do the ...

Re: What plugs and do I need flashlube?

Ta Tubbs I'll forget about flashlube then :D The platinum standard plugs are brand new( paid £10 for the 6 of ebay) would these be ok for a while if I close the gaps down a bit. Not bothered about changing them later as I've got it down to less than an hour for all 6. Did a compression test last nig...

Thanks for the reply Tubbs

How close can the tank be to the exhaust tailpipe?

Hi
How close can the end of the LPG tank be to the exhaust tailpipe? It's a Shogun with a small petrol tank and the lpg tank under the back. It will be about 30mm from the tailpipe, is this acceptable or does it need a heat shield?

What plugs and do I need flashlube?

Evening all

Finally getting round to put the LPG kit on my Shogun. It's a 1995 3.5 DOHC 24V.

What plugs do I need, it's got a brand new set of platinum's in.

Does this engine need flashlube?

Re: Going to bore you lot stupid. 3.5 Shogun fitting

Bugger

I thought I was on a winner. Do all manufacturers use the same date format?

Where is the best place to get another tank. I expect it's a good idea to change the multi-valve as well.
