Re: Advice please!

Releasing the throttle from higher revs will cause the cut off to operate but, after a period of not a lot of gas going in, the actuator will need to open up to get the mixture correct. The lambda will tell it that it is now a bit rich so it will slowly close to get it correct. It closes down slowly...

Re: Advice please!

I'm intrigued by you saying the bias screw fell out? What was on the end of it, a simple cone or a spring and roller? If it was a cone, you're tweaking the wrong one, that's the idle bypass. The symptoms are the same as a mixer that is too large so not generating enough suck when you open the thrott...

Re: availabilty

The reason Shell are pulling LPG out of their forecourts is because Autogas Ltd, a collaboration between Shell and Calor is being shut down. The official reasoning for this is because of a fall in demand although I suspect there has been an internal falling out. So speaking to Calor is unlikely to g...

Re: Advice please!

It will zoom from 250 to 0 and back when you tweak anything, that isn't what you are trying to achieve. What you are trying to do with the manual valve is get the bias set so the lambda is around correct for a specific opening of the PV in both idle and out of idle. Think about what it is trying to ...

Re: 2002 l322 coolant hose probs

As it's cheaper, why not? That's probably what you have now rather than the Hall Effect one but as the resistance didn't change when you moved the needle, it's broke.

Have you got a filter between the reducer and the injectors? Matrix are usually very reliable.

Re: 2002 l322 coolant hose probs

The actual Prins one on the TT website is shown as a Hall Effect gauge. I had one of those on the first LPG car I ever owned and the gauge read 3/4 full all the time no matter how much was in the tank. You can't test a Hall Effect gauge with a multimeter. I suspect it's never worked as the gauge on ...

Re: Unknown make (cogas Lambda 2000s)

There should be an extra chamber on the bottom of the pipe to smooth out any pulses in the incoming air, the hole will have been where that came from, it used to have a plastic 'bottle' on it. The IACV on a Thor always goes into the throttle body not the hose. There's two part numbers for the hose, ...

Re: Unknown make (cogas Lambda 2000s)

Singlepoint on a Thor, at least you now know why there was an air leak between the mixer and the MAF, a backfire blew it to pieces. You can get away with a singlepoint on a GEMS, I know, I run two of them, as long as you keep the ignition system in perfect condition. A singlepoint on a Thor will nev...

Re: 2002 l322 coolant hose probs

If Prins isn't changeable in software, then it looks like it's this one you need https://tinleytech.co.uk/shop/lpg-parts/electrical/level-senders-displays-and-switches/prins-4-hole-level-sender-hall-effect-for-vsi/ rather than the one you have which would appear to be this https://tinleytech.co.uk/s...

Re: Unknown make (cogas Lambda 2000s)

I hope it is a GEMS, single point on a Thor is a recipe for disaster. It looks a pretty standard layout, a couple of solenoids, vaporiser, mixer with some sort of mixture control and taking signals for RPM, Lambda sensor and throttle position sensor. Quite what the connection to the ignition coil is...

Re: Unknown make

That's a completely new one on me and never seen anything like it, although from the info found by Brian it looks to be a Korean system and not the usual Italian or Polish that is usually installed. Is that 10% shown on the Lambda 2000 thing something you can change? On the diagram Brian linked to i...

Re: 2002 l322 coolant hose probs

With the gauge off the tank and moving it with your screwdriver, does the gauge on the dash show the same or does it show full no matter what the actual gauge is showing?

Re: Unknown make

Never seen anything like that before but from the name I suspect that the lambda signal to the petrol ECU has been tapped into and that is supplying a signal to the petrol ECU that supposedly simulates the lambda sensor output. Seems a very complicated way of doing it when ordinarily you'd just tee ...

Re: 2002 l322 coolant hose probs

Sounds like a dodgy gauge rather that stuck float. Gauge is easy to replace as it is isolated from the tank and driven by a magnet inside attached to the float. Simple enough to test too, just take it off the tank and wave a magnet around the back of it and see if the needle moves.

Re: 2002 l322 coolant hose probs

Does the gauge on the tank read correctly or does that show full all the time? If it does, the tank gauge needs replacing. Stuck at full could mean the float has stuck so won't be shutting off when you fill the tank. When filling does it shut off with a clunk or does it just get slower and slower?

Re: 2002 l322 coolant hose probs

I'm still not that clear personally so I can understand the confusion. If Simon had said Tee into pipes 6 and 7 (or whatever) it would have made far more sense. Unlike the diagram for the P38, that one doesn't have arrows showing which way the coolant flows so isn't as clear as it could be.

Re: Advice please!

I set the out of idle above steps higher so if it starts to go lean for any reason, it has some headroom to prevent lean running. Running lean when cruising at 75 mph for 200 miles a time isn't a good idea and without running with the laptop sitting in the passenger footwell so I can see what it is ...
