LPG Installer needed - not too far from W Sussex
I have just purchased a BMW X5 4.8i E70 (2008) with seven seats. I would like to have an LPG system installed with the tank in the space under the boot floor where the rear folding seats currently live. What system would you recommend and how large a tank can fit in the space? Where are you based an...

Re: Tartarini SGI has stopped working.
Thanks LPGC I've read the the article you have referenced, fantastically detailed. I reckon I am most likely in non-Valvetronic mode as that explains the pressures. I did trigger a camshaft error (which I cleared) when I was investigating smoke from the exhaust when starting the car and was worried ...

Re: Tartarini SGI has stopped working.
I've had some more time to look at the my LPG system yesterday. The chart above shows "0" pressure (yellow line) that isn't right. Taking off the pipe from the pressure sensor to the gas manifold resulted in "oil" running out, it had filled the tube. The sensor looked oily and the tiny hole in the s...

Re: Tartarini SGI has stopped working.
Yesterday I fitted new Crankcase "CPV" valves and found both the old ones had splits and were creating a manifold leak. This replacement has improved the smoothness at tickover - I guessed there was a problem when checking the fuel Trims - as the STFT's went up at tickover which since the fix they n...

Tartarini SGI has stopped working.
My Tartarini LPG system has worked great for the last 60,000 miles on my 2004 BMW 4.4i with valtronic (320hp). Then it started switching back to petrol if i lifted my foot off the throttle within 30 seconds of switchover. I lived with this for a year. Then last week coming round the M25 it started s...

BP stopping Autogas
It looks like BP have made the decision to stop selling Autogas at all of their filling stations. Their policy seems to be to remove the LPG pumps from each station on the next planned refurbishment. As BP own so many filling stations this will make a significant impact on the distance many LPG user...

Re: Tartarini SGI not automatically switching on.
Have you: Moved the main power feed from a constant live to an ignition live? I've looked at the Tartarini schematic and the only power connection is a 12 volt permanent on the Black-Red wire - See below. Checking the voltage on this wire (at the in-line fuse-holder) shows my car is wired to a swit...

Re: Replacing Tartarini Evo7 rails with Valtek Type 34.
I've now done 5000 miles with Valtek 34s fitted to the Tartarini system in my BMW 4.4i, and I am very please with them. The engine is smooth and powerful - quieter on LPG than petrol and my fuel consumption has improved. I now get up to 350 miles on a 75L tank with mainly motorway driving and the oc...

Re: Tartarini SGI not automatically switching on.
Hi I've looked at the Tartarini schematic and the only power connection is a 12 volt permanent on the Black-Red wire - See below. Checking the voltage on this wire (at the in-line fuse-holder) shows my car is wired to a switched supply.!!!! This has worked fine for the last six months and only recen...

Re: Tartarini SGI not automatically switching on.
Have you: Moved the main power feed from a constant live to an ignition live? --- No Updated firmware? --- Not recently Changed settings in the 'changeover' section of calibration? --- Yes - lowered the temp for switchover. Fitted a different switch? --- No Tampered with reducer temp sensor? Yes - ...

Tartarini SGI not automatically switching on.
When I switch on my ignition my Tartarini SGI system is not automatically turning on - I have to press the button to activate it. This has only happened after I tuned the system with the Tartarini software (prior to that it would just remember the last state at switch off and just come on with the i...

Re: Replacing Tartarini Evo7 rails with Valtek Type 34.
I think dai is right they are evo8. Type 34's are a very good choice on a valvetronic, they are very fast reacting and can trim very quickly in comparison to other injectors. Personally I always connect up the manifold vacuum lines. Regardless of it being valvetronic. I think the original "Tartarin...

Replacing Tartarini Evo7 rails with Valtek Type 34.
My BMW X5 4.4i Valvetronic has a Tartarini SGi system fitted with Tartarini Evo7 rails. This system has worked fine for the last 12,000 miles since I purchased the car with the system fitted. The Tartarini rails now seem to be worn out (causing misfires when cold) so I have replaced them with Valtek...
