Re: How do Necam Diaphragm / Mushroom EGI injectors work & why?

Autogas2000 used to have a fair bit of Necam kit available though not everything. Seems they have pulled most of that stuff from their store now and were clearing bits on Ebay last I saw. They only seem to do motorhome and camping bits now.

Re: How do Necam Diaphragm / Mushroom EGI injectors work & why?

I replaced one or two of mine on the Ford version, as they broke in one way or another (plastic gone brittle on one so it would't stay on anymore, the other didn't seem to function as a one way valve anymore whereas the rest did). That said, they don't seem to me to do a lot, certainly when broken a...

Re: Leaking BRC injector

That would explain it, Sounds like you have identified the cause of the starting issue. I'd guess the answer may be it depends on the suitability, Hopefully one of the installers on here can give some input there, if you do need to upgrade it then it may be best to do so now, though you may need to ...

Re: Leaking BRC injector

They are effectively a spring loaded valve, opened by electromagnetic force generated through a coil of wire. Very simple really once you see how they work. Theres nothing in them to store electricity etc when they are disconnected, so disconnecting the 2 wires on the connector from it will isolate ...

Re: Leaking BRC injector

Easiest way to prove if its an electrical issue is to unplug the injector and see if you still get the issue. If issue goes away (might take a few times of trying this to tell for sure) then its some sort of electricial issue. Though I'd think that was unlikely if it runs ok otherwise, more likely t...

Re: It'll be under 1300cc, yet which car does a 17YO convert to LPG?

I know with me, the biggest ways of reducing ins costs (bar classic car policies and trying to use alternative feasible postcode addresses) has been to add as many more elderly less risk people on the policy as other drivers as poss, and obviously trying to go on as much a limited mileage as poss. ...

Might be an idea to add a rough location to your post, saves calls from people too far away for you/them.

Re: It'll be under 1300cc, yet which car does a 17YO convert to LPG?

Eco boost engines are direct injection, so aren't ideal for conversion. Don't know on the rest, but need something with enough space for a tank somewhere.

Re: King ecu solenoid issues

I'd think its possible that as you try to drive the gas injectors via the ecu, that its showing up a lack of power and then the solenoid coil can't hold the spring pressure back anymore. It might be worth checking what sort of voltage your seeing at that point, if you don't have access to the diagno...

Re: Any Lpg-specific mpg tips?

Supply from a fixed tank should be cheaper than bottles. But has to have a liquid take off, domestic will have a vapour take off. Your not wrong on harder to get hold of, pulled into Morrisons Boroughbridge last night to fill, managed to get 0.15l out of the pump on 3 attempts. Seems they have let t...

Re: Any Lpg-specific mpg tips?

Also not worth it unless you can buy the bottles cheap. Calor prices were approx £50 for 19kg last time I checked. That works out at approx £1.30 a litre just for the gas. Cheaper to run on petrol at that.

Re: mondeo st24 help

Check the wiring and pipe routing and injector hoses match up - That the same colour injector cut goes to the same cylinder on the loom and pipework. If they are mixed that could explain it. you might be able to tell that from switching cylinders between fuels, not sure if your ecu supports doing th...

Re: mondeo st24 help

First thing to start looking at is the many o2 sensor errors you have there. You don't have much chance of it working well in that state, would suggest switching it to petrol and clearing the fault codes that are logged (you can export them from Torque if you have a look round first so you have a re...

The koltec was a factory fit as such. Monoio is the software to connect to some of the koltec or became systems, never known anyone to manage to get it to work due to lack of info on what you need to connect to where. Theres two basic types of lpg system they did, one uses a gas distributor, the oth...

Re: Pipe sizes.

You might find it best to pop by a scrapyard if you have the opportunity and find a suitable sensor with the plug and a chunk of the loom if you can. Make sure you know what it came off and you should then easily be able to source another if it does fail too.

Re: Pipe sizes.

It's a day for Typos, should have said Kehlin injectors not Hanna. But worth being aware there is two very similar names which are nowt to do with each other. Aeb175 is pretty much the goto option for a single point closed loop. Simple, cheap and easy to get bits for. Simon does that look like a Aeb...

Re: Pipe sizes.

Prinz and Prins aren't the same company. The former makes some of the cheapest kit around, the later tends to be hard to get any info or help out of and relies on reputation of Hanna injectors to make up for it's ecu shortcomings. The landi one might be the best bet, but it's hard to work out how mu...

Re: when my car switches from petrol to lpg it runs rough then cuts out

Sounds like you have a knackered injector to me. Either its not opening or stuck open (My guess would be not opening or not opening as well as it should do). You may get some luck with injector cleaner (lpg injector cleaner that goes into the gas feed to the injector). If you have a multimeter you c...
