Re: Advice please!

Some engines spark all cylinders on start up and that can cause a backfire, there is anyway more risk of a backfire at cranking speeds

Re: USB interface problem OMVL Dream

Back in the day of the old 8ohm injector coils AEB did not have the full group feature so the work around was small injectors and lower pressure. We used to build special range rover kits like that. Once AEB introduced the full group feature that stopped the need for very small nozzles and low press...

I'm back

Not been on the forum for a long while.

LPG conversions have been slow in recent times but I have been really busy on the classic Volvo parts. Moved house built a new workshop well it is almost done so now working from home rather than a shared workshop

Re: USB interface problem OMVL Dream

Also with having the system set to sequential you need the injector nozzles to be between 1.75 and 2mm running at 1.2 gas pressure. You can use bigger nozzles by changing the setting to full group

Re: USB interface problem OMVL Dream

Looking at your pictures the injectors are the old OMVL ones so have the 8ohm coils. The software you are using does not support them so the drivers will not be working correctly as the fast coils are 3ohm

For the second fault you might just need to clean the injectors

EV conversions

For the past ten years or so I have been thinking about doing a electric conversion but the cost is very high still. There is a market for EV conversions and as the LPG conversion trade is slowing down is EV conversions teh way forward for some of use LPG installers?

Thoughts?

Re: Volvo with valvesaver- a real mess!

I very much doubt it is being caused by the valve saver. The throttle body gumming up is common for causing issues and having a bit of gunk in the manifold is nothing unusual. I would give it all a good clean and clean/replace the PCV. I would check teh vapouriser is not leaking gas into the manifol...

It is variable. Wiring is black to earth, Green to green and white to white but not all switches will work with it. Most switches are dedicated to one type of sender.

Re: Wow! Too good to be True? Convert from Carbs with No Mix

I spoke to the designer a few years ago. He sounded like they had the system nailed for working on carb engines. I'm not certain it will give an advantage over a mixer other than backfire aspect. I have used a couple of standalone systems before and results have not been as good as a mixer :( Micros...

Re: LPG on Jaguar XF 3L or Mercedes CL 5L

Valve saver does work and is proven however I would agree with you that given the choice go for an engine that does not need it. I am not a Merc guy but am always impressed with the ones I have converted. For me it would be a choice between a merc and Lexus.
