Re: adding a second tank - easy?
Vertical toroidal and horizontal toroidal tanks are designed for that orientation... it's not just the valves that are different on them but also the angle at which the valve boss is welded to the tank. You can't fit a vertical tank in the horizontal position or vice/versa. There is no easy way to f...

Re: KME Diego G3 diagnostics
Pleased to see you've got the software working. Why is the reducer temp reading 0C in your first (of the above 2) screen shots? As Bri says, optimum pressure and nozzle size depend on the engine and the engine's petrol system. There are some very basic 'rules of thumb' that go on the basis that if y...

Re: Running on petrol
If switchover temp is set to such a high changeover temperature it is likely that it was set at such a high temperature in the hope that the engine would be running in Valvetronic mode (as opposed to throttled mode) by the time it switches over... To prevent problems occurring due to the installer n...

Re: lead pellets in tank?
And besides... Lead damages catalytic convertors and lambda sensors. There are other potions/gadgets installers have put inside LPG tanks instead of fitting a valve lube system though. None of them can really work, the concept doesn't work because there'd be no control over dosage rate... Leave fuel...

Re: Running on petrol
Do you have a working copy of cal tool? Is it possible to remote into my laptop and amend. Just want to change switchover temp and start on lpg when hot for now. I have a working copy (I think... and maybe only until the license expires) but there's no way to remote into your laptop. To remote you'...

Re: LPG petition
Absolutely not arguing - debating! Agreed, those are the words I was looking for :-) I would expect getting the data for how batteries are wired (and a genny to suit that wiring) and the running of an engine in the boot (exhaust, heat, space constraints etc) to be the bigger concerns? Do you mean i...

Re: Running on petrol
Until recently I (courtesy of Mick at LPGAutosupplies) would have been able to help you get a working copy of BRC Calibration Tool. Not Mick's fault that I can't do that now, but Mick might still be able to help you (and me when my 1 years licence period expires) get a copy / renew the license. I sa...

Re: LPG petition
Thanks Pinger. No argument mate but if we're throwing ideas around or being devil's advocates... I knew a bit about the thermal management but didn't think it would amount to much of a problem because it wouldn't actually be charging during driving, instead the genny would be supplying some of the p...

I hate being this negative but I don't think your plan will fly. For a number of reasons (i will elaborate on if asked) I don't think it viable. And I'd hate to see you waste your time on something that ultimately has no future. Trust me, I've done enough of that for both of us and rewarding it isn...

1. It would probably never pink (suffer pre-ignition) on CNG anyway. But still timing can be optimal or far from optimal. If an engine doesn't pink it doesn't mean that timing should be further advanced for best results... In simple terms timing should be advanced to the point at which ignition poin...

Re: Running on petrol
Mick @Foxvehicles (or Google LPGautosupplies and speak to Mick) may give further insights into which software to try.
One version of BRC software that you do need a license for is 'BRC calibration tool' but I don't think that software would be the software to use for your ECU.

Is it a factory LPG converted Transit or aftermarket LPG converted Transit (or when you're running on LPG does the normal dash fuel gauge show LPG level instead of petrol level)?

Re: LPG petition
I wouldn't be talking a 200kw onboard gennie, the size and weight of such a unit would be ridiculous / impossible to retrofit on most EVs. But if during a 60mph cruise an EV uses (say) 15kw then a 7.5kw gennie would double the range. Drive for a couple of hours and stop for a break somewhere scenic ...

LPGC: Similarly, I see synthetic fuels (and bio-fuels) as a necessity that those planning our future have yet to realise. I can't help but wonder that when they do, the existing tooling/production capability for ICE will have been scrapped. For your on-board generator (in essence a REx (range exten...

Re: LPG petition
I'm 52 now (getting old land feeling it lol) and expect to be able to run a vehicle on LPG during all my life. Maybe I'll also own an EV in future, I don't know. Perhaps I will be one of the few still running an ICE vehicle in the future, I don't know. But 'synthetically produced carbon neutral LPG'...

Re: Running on petrol
FLY is similar to PND but I think one of the ideas behind FLY was to have a database of maps that could be uploaded to save the general garage mechanics whom usually installed BRC systems from having to get involved with mapping (or even autocal). Try all the BRC software you can. There will be at l...

Re: Conversion of a Volvo V70 (P80) 1999
1. I had forgotten that some factory converted vehicles (some Volvos) have a separate petrol gauge and alternative fuel gauge. The root of my question was regards if you only had the one fuel gauge, and that gauge only switched to alternative fuel when actually running on alternative fuel (otherwise...

Re: Conversion of a Volvo V70 (P80) 1999
Dai would suss whether it was running true or emulated closed loop straight away. How did you set it up for the dash gauge to show LPG level when running on LPG? That could be telling... Yes you could see an improvement by him adjusting the calibration if it's running in open loop (or emulated) mode...

Re: Conversion of a Volvo V70 (P80) 1999
Goes without saying that poor compression etc could make getting it running properly impossible. Still don't discount the prospect of it not running in true closed loop mode, even if OBD says it is. It would still read as running in closed loop mode if it were running some sort of emulation and like...
