Sounds like a good place to start :) I'm guessing they tested the emmissions on LPG and not Petrol

Re: Disco 4.4 V8 System Too Lean EML

If the cats have been removed I would expect rear probe faults, but shouldn't make it run lean I don't think. If you have a good look at the freeze frame data once the eml comes on again it should tell you the long & short fuel trims for both banks also the oxygen sensor readings and everything else...

Re: Lpg bulk tank filling station

It would be worth speaking to Naz at Birmingham Autogas, 0121 326 7171. They supply bulk tanks, bottles and bulk LPG, as well as vehicle conversions. He is sorting out a bulk tank for me with a new certificate, so may be able to help. There is also Gurch at LPG cars in Coventry, 024 7646 1199 he sup...

Re: Disco 4.4 V8 System Too Lean EML

Hi, is the eml constantly on or does it take a while after reset? Also have you had a smoke machine connected to the engine? I can be difficult to find some air leaks but a smoker will show them up. Would be good to rule out air leaks before you go to much further I would say. Also do you have acces...

Re: Stag Calibration

The auto calibration will normally do a pretty good job on most systems but it is important to check the mixture under drive conditions once you have done it. Especially in the open loop conditions You can do this with a simple code reader as long as it will show you the fuel trims and oxygen sensor...

Re: Jaguar xf 3l petrol conversion

Hi, there is quite a lot of discussion on fuel returns v electronic emulators, the fuel return pipe will work every time, some emulators can be a pain, some work very well. The fuel return pipe will require a solenoid, the tinley tech kit has all the parts you would need, as Simon said already it is...

Re: Audi A5 TFSI LPG conversion or NOT

Just pop this one in for the latest offering for Di engines from Prins, note the less than 5% petrol usage, that's what we want  :D "The Prins VSI-3 DI LPG system offers a universal solution for a wide variety of vehicles of the latest automotive technology, complying with the latest global em...

Re: Radio interference

Just a thought, but as the battery is not located in the engine bay on a X5 I would check where the installer connected the earth wire for the gas ecu, also the live feed. The load on the gas ecu is pretty minimal whilst running on petrol but once switched to gas the load increases and a bad earth c...

Re: Fuel Return System - Jaguar Ford maybe Volvo

Some of the older emulators were a little problematic but I think it's worth biging up AEB at this point   The latest emulators are getting very clever. On the supercharged range rover sports for example the emulator connects to the fuel rail pressure sensor to emulate the signal to the engine...

Re: Audi A5 TFSI LPG conversion or NOT

I’m prins approved, so have the vsi 1/2 software and hope I don’t fall into the categories above 😁 happy to look at any problems people may have. Prins is a bit of a closed shop as you say, I can see what they are trying to achieve with that, it should be a network of helpful, knowledgeable installe...

Re: Audi A5 TFSI LPG conversion or NOT

Hi the Di conversions are certainly nothing like as common as an indirect conversion, there are a lot of reasons for this, not least that these engines haven’t been around for anything like as long. Then the fact that not all engines have systems available and not all LPG converters wish to take the...

Re: Injector pipe length

Hi, it is often advised that the pipes should be of equal lengths. In reality it makes little difference to the running of the engine, the explanation for this is that when the system switches the pipes are filled with gas, the gas that is pushed from the injector, pushes a equal amount out of the e...

Re: Audi A5 TFSI LPG conversion or NOT

Hi, the Prins Vsi system is pricy but does work very well. The problem you will have is Prins is not available as a self fit system, especially Di so would have to be done by a (Prins) approved installer. This is important for the warranty and technical backup if required. But it does come at a pric...

Re: Mixer Ring Orientation

That does sound a lot, keeping in mind you may have to change the reducer to use the flap opener also. I would fit the plate mixer to the front of the afm, would be a lot cheaper option.

Re: Mixer Ring Orientation

Having the pipe off although can cause it’s own problem, as there is then too much for the mixer to cope with. It is best to have the hose and air filter connected to get the correct setup. The flap opener was the best way to convert these as it kept the mixer on the plenum, so less chance of big ba...

Re: Mixer Ring Orientation

No Problem, hope some of it helps, let us all know how you get on, If the vap is good it should be relatively straight forward to sort it, do you know what size choke the mixer has? Also has this setup run correctly in the past or is this a fresh install? I’m sure between the clever minds here on th...

Re: The Temptress

That is a beauty, well, I'm sure it will be once you have done it! :D I would recommend a splitter with one pipe to each branch of the manifold, then probably a pumped (electronic) valve saver kit if you are applying a bit of boost. Flashlube was originally made for the transition from leaded to unl...

Re: Mixer Ring Orientation

Don't connect the balance pipe to the inlet manifold, this would cause massive suction on the diaphragm at idle and not be helpful. The balance pipe only goes to the hose between the afm and the mixer. To start with you can just wedge the door open in the afm, this way you can leave the air filter a...
