Re: General mapping tips?

No I think the shape of it's different due to the restricted engine bay I think they just did away with the 2 cat thing, I think the fix was to just put a manifold on the same as my car without a cat incorporated init as far as I know, a bit of a balls up I think, but those v same cars if they survi...

Re: General mapping tips?

Good point Simon the early mk3 mr2s with my engine had a similar problem like that too that's made me think a bit that now, good answer. I could be totally wrong here, but, I've heard that if some petrol cars if they're really well setup and looked after that have been de-catted may not necessarily ...

Re: General mapping tips?

Yeah thanks I'm hoping that emissions wise is another big advantage of lpg too over petrol. And lol when the smart cars came out I was actually quite smitten and thought that's gotta be the way of the future, they even did a little coupe version too didn't they, but they don't seem to have endured a...

Re: General mapping tips?

Good answer ping, yeah I agree with the cat not quite being as easy to irretrievably damage as is made out too, I've had previous experience with another car as well, I haven't got time at mo cos the signals not great, but before I got the misfires id given my cylinders a piston soak through the inj...

Re: General mapping tips?

Yeah I've had a quick look this morning and the pipes fractured going into the backbox, it's quite noisy as you can imagine I think it's more this that's affecting the running at mo, I'm a bit at pains what to do now at mo on holiday. Cutting a long story short on the install I was a bit daunted by ...

Re: General mapping tips?

Yeah am sortta thinking the same thing too, I'll have a look tomoz at how bad it is, I'm thinking that the fried cat remnants have blocked up the back box and pipe and fractured it at the entrance, I changed my 02 sensors and tried to clean what was left of it before I came away with a view to getti...

Re: General mapping tips?

Yeah cheers for the tips Brian, am thinking maybe my semi-decintigrated cat, I was hoping I may no longer need hopefully, has caused blockages and the back box to blow, I can't see any holes due to the dark, but I can hear it, sounds like from the back-box and there's no pressure coming out of it. A...

Re: General mapping tips?

Anyway just 'felt' my exhaust and it defo must have a big blow in my back-box, I'll double check in daylight I've been trying to 'nurse' that back-box too and thought it was in ok nick and looked ok!! But it is 14 years old now. So I'm assuming that's put my system out of calibration, but am hoping ...

Re: General mapping tips?

Ok, so have taken it out for a drive, v lumpy idling initially but settled down on both petrol and gas, no fault codes, don't think it's my coils or plugs, think it's just a calibrating issue, my cars v loud there's something wrong with the exhaust I know when I tried those pesky injector adapter no...

Re: General mapping tips?

Righto and cheers Richard was hoping to get down to you if so I'll reward you for your parts and help on here. I've actually not gone out in my car yet today to confirm last nites misfire, I'm hoping I'm being a bit hasty. I've changed my fuel gauge and yeah you're both right I think the wires cross...

Re: General mapping tips?

Thanks ping, the lpg switch constantly shows full at 4.73v I'm thinking like you say I've connected the wires up with the wrong polarity, the actual gauge seems to read right but i ve gotta spare one, so am gonna tinker with that today. I get the impression that a not fully functioning lpg gauge is ...

Re: General mapping tips?

Thanks Simon and pinger, yeah that makes sense I think I connected the wires up colour coded, but wasn't sure at the time how much difference it'd make. However I've had a semi disaster, think I mite have spoke too soon thought it was all going so well, think I've developed a misfire (on both petrol...

Re: General mapping tips?

I ve replied to your PM s Simon thanks. Anyway, my system seems to be running quite well so far now, am in Skegness this week been driving around Lincolnshire for the last 2 weeks. I seem to be getting about 250 miles per tank so far with about only 35/40 litre s per fill up. My fuel gauge doesn't s...

Re: General mapping tips?

I have to say that sounds pretty impressive Richard, that's a cracking endorsement for your Range Rover of underestimated real importance I get where you're coming from. And the Audi journey sounded a bit of a hoot, never been in anything with that sort of grunt' that's sort of F1 sort of power isn'...

Re: General mapping tips?

Soz, last message passed in the post, cheers Simon that's reassuring, it'd be good to make the most out of lpg, when mine's set-up properly I may consider in the future a more up to date efficient system.

Re: General mapping tips?

Lol yeah I know what u mean Richard, I know it's fairly pointless I think peak torque s about 4800 I think that's when maybe the vvti kicks in which I just thinks when the exhaust valves open for longer more efficiently, it should be used really, I was gonna say I do give it the odd Italian tune up,...

Re: General mapping tips?

Hey cheers Simon, the v3.03 software works better on my laptop and seems simpler, so that's what I've been trying to use. Autocal' s easy to operate and there don't seem to be too many settings at least, and really tbh I only really use my car pretty sedately in the lower revs range so really it's o...
