Re: LPG injection on a 2l pinto?

I remembered that and the massive improvement he got in MPG going injection - Was there ever a standalone system that came with its own ECU rather than having to go Megasquirt or one of the other diy efi type projects?

LPG injection on a 2l pinto?

Hi, i'm playing with my pinto powered transit again. Its a mk2 so factory electronic ignition and a carb. I'm currently running open loop with a BLOS carb but would it be possible to fit a modern gas injection system to it? I have a lambda fitted already with a air/fuel ratio gauge to keep an eye on...

Re: Bedford cf 2.3

How about a BLOS carb instead of a plate mixer? - Its going to need flashlube as well if it hasn't already had hardened valve seats fitted for unleaded.

Re: Time for a new tank?

I was going to fit a replacement 100l tank but i've found amongst my stash of bits a 70l undermount twin tank that came from between the chassis rails of a modern transit, it looks like it should fit under my mk2 ok. Its a 4 hole tank, the one remaining in the back of the van is a single hole - is t...

Re: Newbie alert!! 2002 vauxhall combo question

Hi, I had a factory fit 55 plate Combo that was serviced by Arun Autogas, I think they are still going under a slightly different name. It might be worth giving them a call and seeing if they are familiar with the system still

Re: Time for a new tank?

Always had a cap on the filler point while I've had it, the tanks aren't that far out of test either.
It sounded more like something rolling in the tank rather than liquid gas swishing about.

Re: How to disconnect LPG

HI, get your tester to read the MOT manual, section 8 You need to inspect MIL fitted to: petrol vehicles with 4 or more wheels, not more than 8 passenger seats in addition to the driver’s seat and first used on or after 1 July 2003 petrol vehicles with 4 or more wheels, more than 8 passenger seats i...

Re: How to disconnect LPG

I can't remember which ones are pass and advise if they fail to illuminate, I know either EML or ABS is a pass and advise if its not illuminating - ie you take the bulb out or stick tape over it. This does sound more like a fault on the system somewhere rather than anything to do with the LPG though...

Re: Anywhere in Surrey, Sussex or NW Kent to service my LPG system?

Just wondered how you went on with this @Speedytriple3503 it would be handy to know of any local to me installers. I only knew of Arun autogas but I think they have gone now.

Edit I think they might still be going http://arunservice.co.uk/index.php

Re: How to disconnect LPG

Ask your tester if the EML light not working is pass and advise as a last resort, or wire it via a delay timer....

Time for a new tank?

Have had further filter clogging problems, this was the accumulation from about 5000 miles IMG_20191023_170406_3.jpg Our other car ran 60k without a single issue filling from the same pumps. All iron filings, I have 2 cylinder tanks fitted an 80l and 90l. The 80l I have had out and can hear somethin...

Possibly a bit late but if I was going straight LPG then I would run the smaller tank as a reserve, with a seperate switch

Re: Zetecs on gas and multiple tanks

I suspect I used an old email address I no longer have access to, I tried the likely ones but got nowhere. I seem to be able to pick up a good running 2.0 for about £150/£200 - people are asking more than that for an unknown pinto dragged out of a barn! If they're a plastic manifold I'll probably be...

Re: Zetecs on gas and multiple tanks

Thanks, I thought that was what I remembered about the valves - is there any difference between the silver top and black top zetec engines in terms of valve life?

Zetecs on gas and multiple tanks

Hi everybody, just re-registered as my old account didn't work anymore. A couple of questions for the more knowledgeable people on here: Zetec 2.0 engines and gas - I remember something about factory gas mondeos having different exhaust valves from standard or them having a reputation for burning va...
