Re: wrote off car, plug and play for same engine model?

Parts have finally arrived, lpgshop sure took its time to deliver. Sensor is now installed correctly as @LPGC' instructed and now just need to empty the tank and work out the voltage min/max to level out the sensor

Re: wrote off car, plug and play for same engine model?

@Brian_H @LPGC Sorry for the very very late update, only just been forced to look into the level sensor issue as the plastic distributor rail has decided to crack on me so will be replacing it with an aluminum one. As for the sensor it seems i made a big amateur mistake in fitting it upside down. On...

Re: wrote off car, plug and play for same engine model?

@LPGC sounds good thank you, I may have soldered the sensor wires the wrong way, (cut them when I was stripping out the system) will first have a go at swapping those wires over and see what happens. If I need to get a new sensor for any reason is it worth "upgrading" or should I stick to the same t...

Re: wrote off car, plug and play for same engine model?

@Brian_H I haven't been able to find me USB cable for the laptop but on my phone it shows the voltage being at 4.41 which it was always that the few times I've checked since the installation, it seems that after the "calibration" when tank was empty all of the voltages set very high. But even before...

Re: wrote off car, plug and play for same engine model?

So I've filled the tank and recalibrated the LPG switch which made it read as full, now done about half a tanks mileage and still reads full. Stuck gauge possibly? Haven't thrown my head in the back to check yet but I assume that's what it will be. If so best to replace or can they be opened up and ...

Re: wrote off car, plug and play for same engine model?

So just finished the LPG kit transfer and everything works as it should and runs smoothly on the new engine. One issue ive had after the installation is that the fuel level sensor seems to always read a single red dot (green, green, green, red, flashing red). it seems to be always stuck on solid red...

Sounds great, thanks for the quick replies. Will be attempting this in the next few weeks so I'm sure I'll be back here if I get stuck or am looking for any more advice!

Re: wrote off car, plug and play for same engine model?

@LPGC The kit is currently on an 02 BMW 330ci pre-facelift (coupe) M54B30 engine code and the vehicle I'm currently looking at purchasing is an 03 BMW 330i facelift (sedan) M54B30. Both engine bays are completely stock with no performance modifications or upgrades. I believe some OEM wire harness wi...

wrote off car, plug and play for same engine model?

Hello, recently wrote off my car and I'm wanting to salvage the LPG kit, I plan on using the same intake manifold on another car with the exact same engine. As far as I'm aware it seems like it should be plug and play. Just thought I'd be safe and see if there are any known issues with throwing the ...

Re: system throws low gas pressure fault and wont manually switch untill high reducer temp

Started it up this morning with reducer at around 8c and switched over perfectly again so i think its safe to say that its all fixed, with such little effort too which is a surprise to me but i sure as hell am not complaining about that! @Brian_H Do you have any more details about that valve? When i...

Re: system throws low gas pressure fault and wont manually switch untill high reducer temp

Ok so i just got back from the shed which is in the middle on nowhere with 0 reception. Did some few maintenance bits on the car while i let the reducer/valve cool down enough to work with. And oh boy was it dirty!! Pulled the solenoid off and then unscrewed the valve. Had strange inner workings and...

Re: system throws low gas pressure fault and wont manually switch untill high reducer temp

Ok i will avoid taking the reducer apart as i can not smell or see and gas leaks around the reducer, i have tried unplugging the vacuum hose and again there was no smell of gas and no noticable draft coming from the reducer vacuum hose while the engine was running. Yes i believe brian pointed that o...

Re: system throws low gas pressure fault and wont manually switch untill high reducer temp

Okay will be taking apart the solenoid on the weekend and seeing how it is. Im not too sure hiw to fugure out where the pressure reg is referenced to. What are some key signs to show that a reducer would need a repair kit? Was thinking i might as well do that while im taking the solenoid off of the ...

Re: system throws low gas pressure fault and wont manually switch untill high reducer temp

Got up this morning and it threw the error at me again. https://i.imgur.com/0NUnI5G_d.jpg Got to work and switched the engine off for a few seconds and started it up, switching straight over to gas, was a little shakey with the switchover though. https://i.imgur.com/bU5s8hN_d.jpg https://i.imgur.com...

Re: system throws low gas pressure fault and wont manually switch untill high reducer temp

Ok thinking about it that actually makes quite a lot of sense for the pressure reading. I think ill have a look at the solenoid anyways just for peace of mind, what in a setup would you be looking for to make a decision like that on fuel overlap? I will also post a few pictures of the program which ...

Re: system throws low gas pressure fault and wont manually switch untill high reducer temp

The tank does have a shutoff screw so ill be sure to remember that. And that sounds pretty straightforward so im a bit less worried now. Just went for a drive now and it threw the error again so connected my phone and just watched the data while i drove around on petrol. Noticed that the pressure wa...

Re: system throws low gas pressure fault and wont manually switch untill high reducer temp

oh makes sense that it could block the injectors from opening. I have tried that and usually from cold start i have to wait until the reducer was at 70c before it switched over. Just ran out now for another cold start test and again it threw a low pressure fault, in fact it had almost 0 pressure htt...

Re: system throws low gas pressure fault and wont manually switch untill high reducer temp

Yea few more cold starts and hopefully it sticks, what kind of pressure is dangerous? Incase i go out in the morning and its on some oddly high pressure. I wish mine was a simple switch off and on fix but having to pull the car over after a few minutes driving to restart the engine was getting prett...
