Re: Bad gateway message for new topics?

Just to let you know that I have been looking into this and have made a few configuration changes to the server which may (or may not) sort the 502 errors out. I'm about to install a few system updates as well so again, there may be something in there that will resolve the issue. With regards the re...

Re: Bad gateway message for new topics?

Dave, it's been doing it for me since 2020 (see https://www.lpgforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=15468) but for some reason it has stopped in the last day or so. The problem with new posts not being marked as read even though they have been read, I was told was a Firefox (under Windows 10) problem. The s...

Re: Bad gateway message for new topics?

I've not been able to replicate the 502 issue but something isn't right with the read/unread functionality. I have a test instance of the forum and it has a similar issue. I'll keep digging into this but there is another update available and while it doesn't mention fixing anything like this maybe a...

Re: Bad gateway message for new topics?

@Brian - When you say 'posts read' do you mean clicking on the red icon between the post number and poster name - this greys out when I do it

Re: Bad gateway message for new topics?

Can you ask Hitman2 what browser he is using - I'm on a Mac at the moment and have tried Firefox & Safari with no problems. Also tried Firefox and Chrome on my Android 12 phone with no problems. I've just restarted the webserver but more than happy to bounce the server Update: I need to head out...

Re: System Updates - March 2022

System upgrade has been completed and additional Anti-Spam countermeasures have been installed - hopefully we can keep them from the door a little while longer.

Re: System Updates - March 2022

Thanks - that would be great :-) We do get the odd burst from these bots from time to time but the issue from the previous post was a sustained crawl that was effectively a Denial of Service, even if that wasn't the intention. If you are able to PM those IP addresses I will get the server updated - ...

System Updates - March 2022

As previously advised the forum board will be updated over this coming weekend, probably this Saturday evening (5th March). The upgrade should take no longer than half-an-hour and during this time the board will be inaccessible. It is also planned to install a new plugin which will assist in the det...

Service Degradation, Outage and Upgrade

Some of you may have noticed issues with the forum between 6:30pm on Thursday (17th) and about 5:00pm on Friday (18th). After some investigations it turned out that the forum was being agressively crawled by some random Search Bot which had nailed the server CPU at 100% load. lpgforum-crawler.png I'...

Re: Removing the FillLPG App from the Play Store

as an app developer i can understand the issue. but can you atleast open source the project incase others want to bug fix/improve? I've not thought about Open Sourcing the project but to be honest I think this would be of limited use. The code has 'evolved' over the years, starting as a Java applic...

Re: Removing the FillLPG App from the Play Store

Ok - I've made this thread Sticky and updated the original post with the link to my blog where the installer packages can be found. There are a couple of installers on the post but they contain the same level of functionality - one is the current version as pulled from the Google Play Store and the ...

Re: Removing the FillLPG App from the Play Store

Just a quick note to say thanks for the work you have done on the app over the years, shame its had to go the way it has, but as you say its beyond your control at this point really. It might be worth making this topic a sticky/pinned topic once you have a download link available if thats possible?...

Re: Removing the FillLPG App from the Play Store

There were issues with the datafeed from the FillLPG website which I've (hopefully) addressed now. The issues were caused by overseas users entering stations which contains non-English letters - the site doesn't handle these but the result is a corrupted datafeed. I blogged about my decision to pull...

Re: Removing the FillLPG App from the Play Store

Quick update - I've unpublished the app in the Play Store now (there was no reason to wait really). As mentioned above, this will not affect existing users with the app currently installed and I will be making the installation file available via my website later this week. This installation file wil...

Removing the FillLPG App from the Play Store

Well today a tipping point was reached and this is fair warning that I will soon be removing the FillLPG app from the Google Play Store! DON'T PANIC..! If you currently have the app installed it will not (to my understanding) be removed from your device (see 'Publishing Status' here => https://suppo...

Re: Forum Instability

It won't have escaped your attention that the forum is still experiencing some problems :-( The current hosting server was also serving up my own website as well as one for a client of mine - these were also being taken down by the forum which was a problem. I've taken the opportunity to move those ...
