Re: Forum Instability

It won't have escaped your attention that the forum is still experiencing some problems :-( The current hosting server was also serving up my own website as well as one for a client of mine - these were also being taken down by the forum which was a problem. I've taken the opportunity to move those ...

Just checked it (searched Android using the Search in the top right of the site) and it seems fine to me

Re: Forum Instability

That shouldn't make any difference - I think it's just some overdue maintenance. On the subject of spam, I'll be looking at some additional plugins shortly which will hopefully put a big dent in that. I'll trial them out on the test site to see what the configuration options are etc and then install...

Re: Forum Instability

I've deleted and recreated the search indexes so we'll see how it goes.

The forum has been stable of the past few weeks so maybe my tweaks to the server have sorted it - time will tell I suppose.

Re: Forum Instability

Found the maintenance option but it will probably be quite an intensive process so best left until the quieter times before I run it - one evening I expect.

Re: Forum Instability

It could well be - some of the tables that required attention were related to searches etc. We've been up for a week now so maybe the issue of stability have been sorted (maybe not) - I'll see if there is anything I can do about the search speed, maybe the forum software has a maintenance routine fo...

Re: Forum Instability

You may have noticed further disruptions to the forums availability over the past few days - apologies for this. This morning I put the forum into maintenance mode and performed some database repairs and optimisations - it looks like some of the tables may have been left in an inconsistent state fol...

Re: System Upgrade

Form what I can tell the server is currently running on UTC so that should be fine.

At the bottom right of the page I have a note stating 'All times are UTC' and everything looks fine. Brian mentioned that his profile was set to UTC+1 so maybe you need to check there.

Forum Instability

Some of you may have noticed the forum displaying database (mysql) errors on and off over the past few months. I've been working on identifying the root cause of the problem which appears to be a lack of available memory. This is odd as the server it now resides on has been running a couple of Wordp...

System Upgrade

I will be installing a system update over the weekend - probably Saturday afternoon.

This should take about an hour unless the upgrade gremlins decide to pay me a visit.

During that time the forum will be inaccessible - wish me luck ;-)

Re: FillLPG for Android is Dead

Glad to hear that the site isn't going away anytime soon :-)

As mentioned above, as long as the site is around then the app will remain in the Play Store.

Re: FillLPG for Android is Dead

Its not dead yet, but the crucial point is if the website goes, the app becomes useless, as its data source for any new installs no longer exists, and existing installs become out of date. At the end of the day this is the crux of the issue - if the FillLPG site goes dark then the app becomes usele...

Re: FillLPG for Android is Dead

I hear what you are saying but the website isn't a great experience on the phone as it wasn't designed for smaller displays. Sure, it will work but it will be sub-optimal. Mind you, it depends on how often you think you would need to access the data. The app will provide you with updates and you don...

FillLPG for Android is Dead

Hi All, Just to formalise the fact that the FillLPG for Android application is now considered to be 'End of Life' and will not be receiving any further development or maintenance efforts. Email issues [Resolved]

Looks like the migration wasn't 100% successful as we appear to have issues sending emails.

We are investigating but if you registered since the migration you may not have received your confirmation.

We'll post an update here when we have it

Apologies for any inconvenience.

Re: FillLPG Android app - new version under development

Ok - It's taken a bit longer than planned but I'm just about ready to send out the first beta release. If you would like to take a look at the new version and provide feedback and suggestions then please PM me with your email address - I will need to send you an invite to a Google Group which will a...

Re: FillLPG Android app - new version under development

I'm up for some testing! .... Will your app have "take me to the nearest LPG" and "Show me the LPG stations on my current route" options? I realise they're probably hard to implement, but would let you sweep the board :) I'll be in touch when the Beta is ready for testing. As for the "take me to th...
