Code 1690 is telling you the bulb is blown, or a wiring fault to it. Perhaps it's the lamp with the spanner rather than the engine block or a another.

P0201 As Rossko has asked, what exactly have you changed, model and part no.s etc.

because the codes only occur when switched to lpg, i assume the 1690 code is because the lpg ecu interferes with the eml.
for the 0201 code, i have swapped injectors round in the banks, but code remains with cyl 1 and doesnt follow the injector,
i have done a noid light test on the harness and all plugs are showing pulses.
i replaced the emulator with a like for like part, there is no name on the unit, just numbers 238002-008
what else can i do?
cheers

I wouldn't have thought it would be the LPG ECU throwing the 0201 code, it'll be the petrol ECU. Also, I have not known any faults on the LPG system cause the 1690 code before.

If you are absolutely sure you haven't put the same unit back in that you removed (Did you mark them before removing the original?) then I would have thought that the fault can only lie with wiring.

So ten wires to the emulator.
one from each injector 4
one each back to ECU 4
one switched 12V in to trigger ECU 1
one ground 1
maybe?

I can only see it being the wire or connector from the emulator to the LPG ECU.

If you can see the colour of the wire on the harness at the faulty injector connector then I would have though it would be the same colour in and possibly add a black twist to the colour out of the emulator. e.g. Violet IN, Violet/ Black OUT. The other injectors maybe yellow, red and grey. Brown as ground and Blue/ Yellow as the switch. Red/ Blue as the other wire at the injector connector. Of course these colours probably won't match yours.

The only other thing I can think of is the O2 readings going into the emulator. I really wouldn't have thought it would be this as other codes would have shown on the petrol or LPG ECU and you've only got ten wires connected which would suggest the O2 isn't connected to the simulation module.

Edit. There may be a single wire going from the wire link between the emulator - petrol ECU that goes to the main LPG ECU (I assume to check that pulses are going out to the petrol ECU from the simulation module and on the GSI systems is to feed the LPG ECU with timing information.) I say single wire because it may only be connected to cylinder one and no other cylinder wire.

just been out to have a look at the wiring.
the wires from the injectors are brown with red, blue, green and yellow
wires to the emulator are
plug 1 - brown, green/yellow, purple/black and black/grey
plug 2 -white/black, white, yellow ,purple, grey and yellow/blue
thanks

Brown____________________Ground
Blue/ Yellow_______________Switch

Purple_____________________ECU In 1
Yellow_____________________ECU In 2
White_____________________ECU In 3
Grey______________________ECU In 4

Purple/ Black________________Injector 1
Yellow/ Green_______________Injector 2
White/ Black________________Injector 3
Grey/ Black_________________Injector 4

Remember I have Astra's so these colours may not match the cylinders etc. for you or the ECU/ injector wires might be the other way around.

By the side of you glove box have a few relays as well?

The Blue/ Yellow, I think, will go to one of them. This wire and the associated side of the relay it is connected to are not used when running on petrol, however, it is common to all four injectors. It is possible that the issue is on all four but the ECU only logs the first cylinder, who knows. The other colours to that relay might be Blue or Brown or Black and Blue or Brown or Black striped with something else.

I believe there are other relays there that are the same, only you know for sure. Try swapping around the relays and check the connections thoroughly.

If it isn't that then it is still possible you have a dodgy connection to the petrol ECU from the emulator. Perhaps the connector that splices the emulator into the harness.

Follow that brown back and check it is connected securely and clean/ rust free.

Another thought. On the EGI systems I have known, there is one relay that activates every few seconds when running on LPG. I do not know which one, I have always thought it was the relay that switches the O2 sensor to stop the petrol ECU throwing a fault.

well i finally got a chance to give the car another look over the car
i traced all injector wires back to the ecu plug via the emulator and found that most are reading 0.1-2 ohms
so surely that just leaves the lpg ecu???

When you say 0.1-2 ohms that is 0.2 ohms?

You also haven't mentioned the common wire that goes from a relay back to the ECU and from the other side of the relay switch to the injectors and the other to the connectors (I assume). The last being the important one.

Did you try swapping the relay with another?

I'll PM you some info. to try and explain it a little better later.

yes, sorry. 0.1-0.2 ohms.
no, i havent checked those other wires yet, although i'm not totally sure of the ones you mean.
i did swap the relays around back when i first asked for advice and those instructions i believe were by you :)
i'm guessing the relays and connections are my next point of inspection?
any info as u suggested would be most appeciated. i'm still learning :)
